I plan on going to the office, and making an announcement over the school speaker system, "Attention everyone. I have just lost the game."

Anyway! I wanted to bump that other craptastic journal off my page and replace it with more of my usual me'ness.

Did you know of the day: Captain Capernicus Q. Qwark himself has his own software suite! Thats right, you can go and get yourself a copy of Qwark Professional. (Here's the wiki:[link]) Well ok, so I know its spelled differently, but its still epic!

OK so GUESS WHAT CAME OUT TODAY! SUPERJUNIOR'S NEW ALBUM! So being the fantard that I am, I went and errr... Acquired it. WHAT! I CAN'T WAIT THE 3 WEEKS ITS GOING TO TAKE FOR MY CD TO ARRIVE ALL THE WAY FROM KOREA. (I ordered a copy on Yesasia.com because I love them.)

So I've got a question...

Whenever I'm in the kitchen, for some reason in my head I imagine I'm on a mental cooking show of somekind, I layout all the bowls and ingredients on the bench and in my mind I'm busy saying what I'm doing, "And now we add the cheese ontop!"...

Am I the only one who does this? (DERP. Imma tard. )

An admin that doubts themself is good? Or bad?

Hello there.
I just wanted to write a bit to put down some of my thoughts about BLM's recent upgrade... It was a long road to get here and one that I am starting to doubt. On the one hand, many of the things introduced by the new version of the vBulletin software we run enable me to post stuff in a way I like. On the other hand, it has changed what I think many people expect to see. Also, as I use the software on a daily basis I am seeing more and more quirks and bugs and annoyances. This, of course, is something expected after any upgrade. I had the same apprehension when first opening the site as nonTT a couple of years ago. I had it again when rebranding the site Bored Like Me and introducing a new look. Now we are on v2.0 for BLM and I am left feeling unsure that I made the right move... :( Is this some attempt at pity from those who read this? No, not at all. Is this a thinly veiled attempt at seeking affirmations from the interwebs? Nah. Not that either. Or, frankly, maybe it is... But that wasn't the original intention. Mostly, this is a (very public) private note to myself in case I end up loving or hating what this site is becoming. It may also stand as a nice reminder to myself of the joys/anxiety/work involved in building sites should I ever abandon all this and want to reminisce. Time will tell. In the meantime, back to work.

OK so guess who just hit 5,000 views!
This is about the 9th time I've tried updating my journal. I can't beleive I haven't updated this thing in a whole week! D: I'm letting my standards slip!

So its 7:20PM April 18th. I have been fifteen for exactly 23 hours 40 minutes.
Funny thing is, I'm not any less retarded
Usually on birthdays you tend to receive presents. Not me! So I told my parents I wasn't really expecting much, seeing as my mum just got out of major surgery and is physically incapable of shopping. And my father is mentally incapable of thinking about anyone other then himself.

I was seriously suprised by the amount of pageviews I've been getting recently. I'm already at 2,500 pageviews... ?!?!?!

Also thankyou so much to everyone who's been wishing me Happy B'day and stuff. It means a lot. <3
So yeah, I didn't get anything for my B'day! But thats cool.
Back at school again. Not much happening. LOTS OF HOMEWORK. :C

Anyway, I had an awesome time being PWN'ed by Emma yesterday on Burnout! I like never go on the PSN. Which would explain why I EPICFAIL'ed so much. Or I'm just too full of my self to admit that I suck at Playstation.

Also, I think I'm addicted to orange juice. Seriously I've been drinking like heaps of it.

I managed to survive all THREE of my NAPLAN pre-tests + all the other homework.
But I've got a crap load left to do.

So anyway, my other relatives/friends all gave me money. This + all the money I got from christmas adds up to around $400. I'm thinking getting a Playstation Portable!
It does music, video, internet and games! (RaC on the PSP! )
I'm still considering the iPod touch as an option. But I think I like the PSP better. iPod touch is more expensive ($399) PSP Little Big Planet Bundle ($289).

Which one would you guys choose? Let me know in the comments PLZ!

Once again its time for another glimpse into the depths of my psyche. At 4AM!

Why am I tempted to just fill this journal with Yo momma jokes?
Well actually, over here in Australia, its Ya Mum. Not to mention thats a terrible idea, So STFU.

OK, so I've been meaning to update this thing for a while now. I've had a lot going on.
So for starters, its almost 4AM. And I should be asleep in bed. And to be truthful, I am for the mostpart. 5 STARS FOR INTERNETS IN BED.

If you've been living under a rock recently, you may not have known that last friday, or saturday, or whatever day it was on, was easter.
A time in which we should all be feeling bad for our good friend, Mr.J Christ. (Sometimes referred to as the JeeMan.)
What better way to deal with our emotional woes than with copious amounts of CHOCOLATE. (Oh look, he has a dA account too! `Jesus) <== LOL I HAVE MOAR LLAMAS THAN JESUS.

Now most of the time chocolate is excellent. Its tasty, fattening and full of calories. What more could you ask for? As a self-confessed choco-holic, I would usually feel free to indulge myself, and eat as much chocolate as I liked. This time its different.

I've just been getting used to this regular training routine thing. And I was actually hoping I would be able to skip easter and all of its chocolatey goodness. Why send a good months worth of work to waste? Anyway, stupid me decided to eat the chocolate. And with chocolate, came hours of deviantART over-dosing, whoring, and more physical inactivity. What a complete waste.

On the bright side. I have a very tasty looking bunny waiting for me on my desk. I think I may have to steal his clothing. OMNOMNOM.... Theres also a large supply of chocolate I've accumulated from various family members, hidden in the living room.
NOTE TO BROTHER: IF YOU'RE READING THIS. THAT DOESN'T MEAN YOU GET TO GO EAT IT.

In other news, the iPad launched! WOO! Only its not coming to Australia any time soon. And i don't really need one. But hey, if you're still going to go out and purchase yourself an iPad, you could always throw a belated 'iPad Launch party' and fashion yourself a 'Steve Jobs Cheese Head'.

This journal had a number of potential titles. Nerd Alert, Nerd party, Nerdgasm... TBH I couldn't hone in on the one word that really encapsulates the sheer nerditude of stuff covered in this half. Let your inner RaC-nerd shine through.

OK so I just watched the complete set of cinematics for "Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time".
Completley ruining the story and the game for me. Especially seeing as I haven't actually played it yet. It was annoying not knowing who Lord Vorselon was. I haven't purchased the game, seeing as its still $89>100 here in Australia.

I've got to say, I'm impressed with what Insomniac came up with. This game looks a lot longer/more complicated and deep than any of the other games. And Ratchet certainly looks a lot more adorable/fuzzy in this game.

And the valkyries? WTHLOL.

I also have a new level of hatred towards Azumith. Stupid Git.
Otherwise, I have high hopes for the next game. And they better friggen send Ratchet back to the lombaxes OR I WILL BE ONE UNHAPPY CAMPER.

Speaking of fangasm's, I just discovered an awesome band on iTunes Japan the other day.

Choshinsei, or Supernova as they are known in japan. I've been listening to nothing but their music for the last couple of days. Sure its all in Japanese and Korean, but its awesome. I'm actually considering translating/editing/adapting some of their music, and covering it in english.

A Crack in Time IRL EDITION

Time for another BLOG-IN-BED session!

Seriously! Its like I have no time on my hands! At all! What I wouldn't give for a TARDIS. Or a Great Clock. Or a Zoni Figurine plz?

So I'm like at my new school from the moment I wake up, to about 5PM. Then I'm shopping with my mom until 8PM and get home at 9.
Then she wanted to look at this website on my laptop and I let her. I mean I enjoy sharing stuff with her most of the time. But there were things I needed to do! And now its 10PM. And as usual she wants me in bed. D:

I honestly don't understand why I'm supposed to be in bed so early! I mean I've been going to bed at 2AM and 3AM for the past few months and I'm used to it. Why does it matter what time I'm in bed? I mean it only matters if I catch the bus on time right?

Besides, I don't sleep anyway. I just lie in bed for ages. Sure I can be tired and completely drained and I still can't sleep? WHY!?!?!

I've just been thinking about a ton of stuff recently. Maybe I should share it with you guys, get it out of my mind.

I'm at a cross-roads with my music. Sure I haven't actually released anything yet, but here's the situation.

OK, so for starters I've been working on an E.P. For quite some time now. Its a solo job. Just me, and no one else. And I want to keep it that way. I've been mixing the music, editing vocals and writing songs all myself.
Oh and I'm only 15 and can't read music or play and instrument. (Or sing for that matter. Thank-god for voice editing!)
Its god-damn difficult, but good fun.
I've finished in total about 3 or so songs. And I've got about another 5 which are almost finished. And then I have about 14 more half finished songs.

I've also been working with some producers on Myspace, Breakz and a few others. They've kindly allowed me to use some of their music.
But the thing is, i'm not really sure where I want to go with this! I mean part of me wants to go all 'Rap-N-HipHop' and part of me doesn't.
I mean I'm just not that kind of hardcore person. And I don't want to come across as a Justin Bieber wannabe. I mean I can rap, but I'm not a gangster, I'm not obsessed with women and I'm not black. And I'm no where near as hardcore as Eminem or Lady Sovereign. Not that I want to be, or have to be like them. But I'd just feel like a looser.

So then I think about trashing all the rap-crap and going with the more poppy music. Tonight would be a good example.
Sure, its a song about loving another guy, or just having 'fun', but i've tried to do it tastefully. And the beats i've got worked out. Fit the lyrics and work with it perfectly. But I don't know if I want to move all in that direction?

And then there's some genuine indie techno/other stuff. Do or Die is a good example. I took some video-game music by David Beregaud and remixed it, chopped and changed it. I'm happy with it because its me. But that stuff isn't going to be popular. Its longer, and much deeper/less catchy up-beat. So I don't know if thats what I want either.

And then i've got my career choices soon. I mean I don't know what I want to do when I'm older. I don't know if I even want to go to university. I mean It would be something I would want to do if I was going to move into a normal job. But, what If I want to be an artist or something else? I've been getting kinda angsty at anyone whenever they discuss my future, universities and subjects that I'll be doing. Gee how nice of you to decide that I'm going to do University. What if I don't want to?
But then again, no-one today will take you seriously if you don't have a university degree in something, And its also stupid to just assume you won't ever need one in life.

What if I want to be a photographer, a musician, a film maker, artist, actor or choreographer/performer? I love all of those things and I also love doing the normal stuff too.

I just can't seem to make up my mind about anything and end up trying to do everything.

So there are some things that as a guy, you don't tell anyone else. Be if the conversations between just you and your guys at 4AM, or girl advice (which we all know is totally bogus) there are some things that as a guy, you're obliged not to share. Well i'm about to break the guy's code. I'm changing their names. But I think they know who they are. :D Don't worry, your secret is safe with me.

So, anyway, there are some pretty major things wrong with these discussions from my perspective. I'm the clean one of the bunch. The naive one who didn't know what condoms were until 8th grade. And never thought dirty. (well the internets kinda changed that. :P)... You get the picture.

So it was 3AM. We were watching movies. Well we were going to. Friend 3 thought it would be a good idea to watch ATLANTIS by disney. I was kinda meh about it because I thought it was lame. But anyway. Friend 3 and 4 were asleep. Friend 1, 2 and myself were awake.

Anyway, so they started talking about girlfriends. Friend 2 has had a fair few. He talks about it a lot. But often I would question, how deep it really is. I mean its not some kind of superficial "If we go to the movies together then you must be my girlfriend" type thing. ITS 9TH GRADE.

Anyway, so then they started talking about 'Bases'. I knew, and still know nothing abuot this. Friend 1 was saying how he'd reached 3rd base. I'm assuming this meant passionatley snogging. (I know perfectly well that it probably isn't)

Anyway, so then they started talking about chicks they think were hot. Using nice language, girls with big hooters seemed to be their main attraction. Then they started sharing bikini model pictures with eachother on their phones.. Then they asked me stuff. I'm not going into detail what they asked but, well lets just skip that shall we?

I was honest. THE ENTIRE TIME I'VE BEEN AT MY SCHOOL. I haven't felt anything about anyone. I'm not interested in someone who's got a pretty face, if they've got big hooters and if they'll undress for me on MSN webcam. If they are a b*tch then its just a BIG N.O.

I told them I didn't have any bikini model pictures. I don't. Why would I? They are just skantily clad models. We see enough of them as it is. It doesn't turn me on, or anything like that. THEY ARE OLDER WOMEN. I'm not interested in someone who's like 10 years older then me. We see so much of these people in the media, on billboards etc. Why would I want to see those kinds of things any more! Its just annoying. If it was someone I genuinley cared about then I wouldn't mind. But i don't look at the picture and think "BOOBS". I look at their face. What kind of person are they? I don't even know them, WHY SHOULD I HAVE PICTURES OF THEM?

I could care less about someone's looks, popularity, their "assets". Its who they are inside that matters to me. And I don't want someone stupid.

I don't want to have a 'Girlfriend' so that I can grope them and be all gross. I really just want someone to share things with. Share life with. Enjoy things, and take it slow. Talk with Holding hands and all that stuff.

Not to use them and then write them off as some annoying thing in the way of my normal activities.

Sometimes it makes me sad to think that its only those kinds of things that they care about. I mean they're great friends, but I often wonder how hard these kinds of things are going to be for them when they're older. One of them seems so assured when telling friend 3 that "Unlike you, I'm actually going to get to have sex."

OK, so this means what... LOOK AT YOURSELF FROM A GIRLS PERSPECTIVE. Practically all the girls in the class heard you talking about what kinds of "movies" you watch and those sorts of things. YOU GUYS WERE TALKING ABOUT IT OUT LOUD IN THE MIDDLE OF ENGLISH..

Girls aren't going to be turned on by that. And walking around being cocky isn't either. They are going to think, GROSS. Lets stay away from them.

But then all this makes me wonder. SO many girls will just don't appreciate this. They will just go out with whatever sleaze bag is there. SO many of them don't care about this anymore. They've let their standards down. And that is disappointing.

I think we all need to raise our standards a little. And I know this a topic that I'm not exactly an expert on. But I could really use someone to confide in right now.

Well, I guess I better stop before I spew out my soul.

Man. I haven't blogged in like, a year!

Literally.

Winter puts me in a weird funk though, so I'm totally up for some hardcore blogging.

... Whatever the hell that is.

I've been spending a lot of my days at the library, sneaking upstairs to the little nook in the "Adult Fiction" section where the manga is hidden.

I love how they put it there.

Obviously, no adult in Columbia, Missouri would even set eyes on manga... but it's as if the librarians are doing a favor for us manga readers by putting them there, so that some n00b doesn't come along and take 'em before us.

It's refeshing.

Windows Me First Impressions

So, instead of doing "Just-another-windows-7-review"I decided to do something a little, different. Anyway, people say that Windows ME (or Millenium Edition) is the WORST version of windows ever created, released 7 months after Windows 2000, it was aimed at home users with a focus on Digital Entertainment, Its killer features being IE 5.5 and Windows Movie Maker 1.0... Oh and that nifty thing called system restore which uh, sometimes restores viruses too... People claimed "It f**ked up my computer! And My Life!"

Anyway, seeing as my Win 2K PC that I found was in melbourne I resorted to doing a blank install in VMware.

Now, I'll be comparing Windows ME, to Windows Vista, seeing as many are fast to call vista the "Windows Me of our Age"

Installation:

The Windows Me Disk I bought of ebay, was built to run on computers which allready had windows, this meant I had to download a Win98 Virtual Appliance and then put the disk in. - After all that I put the disk in and the Windows Me Installation window came up...

It asked for a few simple peices of information, asked me to select a partition to install, and away it went. Unlike the Vista installer, The whole 'copying files' part went really quickly. And I liked how it showed me all the new 'Cutting Edge Features' that I would soon be enjoying, each accompanied with a picture of a smiling windows user. :)

After the file copying stage was done, it took well over half an hour for it to configure all the hardware to work. And after that, I simply restarted, put in my Win 98 User details and everything was ready!

I did have to change my keyboard layout settings though, but otherwise everything was fine.

Vista Installation: The Vista installation isn't any better then the Me Installer, Sure, its pretty, but in order for it to work it has to semi-boot into your existing OS to start... And when you finish installation, your existing OS has a major spazm. And it also isn't very clear in telling you what its doing, or what you should be doing, It also took much longer.

Boot times and user Interface:

Windows Me booted to the Login screen in less then 20 seconds, and from there to the desktop in about 15... But I would have preffered the Boot screen to show for a little longer then one second.

The UI is similar to that of Windows 98 and other 9x OSes, the farmilliar beveled grey look, whilst a little boring, is very fast and responsive. There are also a few welcome enhancments to the explorer, Some of which are missing from Vista, Namley the awesome picture preview which lets you zoom, pan and print, without even opening an application. It also has the "Copy to" and "Move To" Functions. New icons and a well organized control panel (which is actually better then the one in vista and 7)

The start menu is not fancy, and thats a good thing, the added speed means no more waiting for the menu to appear, its quick and efficient. And the cute effects dont hurt it either. Sadly, Windows Me, along with the other 9x oses are no longer supported my microsoft, meaning that whatever updates are there, are all you are going to get. So I downloaded the lot.

For an Old OS it can do a lot of things,

The highest version of IE that you can use is Version 6.5 or something, and Windows Media Player can go up to Version 9. And Outlook express goes up to version 6.4 (I think)

But installing netscape navigator is a must if you want tabbed browsing and FF extension support. It can also do skype, Multi-Platform IM and a bunch of other stuff. In short, its not outdated at all. I'm running 2010 avast! Anti-virus and ZoneAlarm for security. Seeing as I will need it if I'm going to continue using the OS.

Even though, despite the fact that microsoft claims that they will no longer support updates, I've noticed the little windows update icon doing things in the task tray.

Video Playback is very fast as with most media...

+ Excellent Media support
+ Low profile, Will run on almost ALL hardware.
+ Well organized Control Panel
+ NO User Account Control!!! No annoying security Dialogs and "Confirm Action" Boxes.
- No search indexing goes on, which means slow search.
- IE sucks
- Some software limitations
- System Restore Sucks
- No Bells and whistles

Vista
Vista takes well over 5 minutes to load to the desktop. Its generally sluggish and slow, the graphics and fancy addons (Wndows Sidebar) doesn't help any. Countless UAC alerts, and notifications, asking you the same question up to 6 or more times during an installation. Its also considerably slower to shut down. It also has little backwards compatibility with many 9x games. The exporer window is kinda awkward to navigate, and takes much longer to open.

+ Graphics Look nice
+ Instant search
+ Gadgets Can be handy
- MEMORY INTENSIVE! even computers designed to run vista often wont.
- Graphics can cause performance issues
- Confusing versions available
- Expensive
- SLOW!
- Little Backwards compatibility.
- Windows Update isn't as informative as it used to be.

Performance:
Overall, Me beats vistas ass. Hands down.

Graphics and gaming performance, application load times, ease of use and functionality. Me has it all. While it is missing fast search and support for some newer applications, it took win98 (the best gaming os ever) and made it easier to use, and better at a lot of things. I don't think Me deserved all the negatve hype it received. If they knew that they would have the monster of UAC to deal with in the future, I'm sure many people would have hushed up about the few niggling issues.

The no frills interface and enhanced media support, and the fact that there was only one version, not 6 makes Windows Millenium edition, King.

The holidays are in full swing and I am trying to catch up for time away from the computer. I had a not-so-relaxing Christmas with family (but it was great to see them). Now I check my inbox, RSS feeds and pages marked while on the go and relaize I have s ton of stuff to catch up on. *sigh*

I'll be on and off all this week as I enjoy some more time off. In case I don't see anyone before the 1st, HAPPY (early) NEW YEAR!
