The Great British Summer

I know the Brits have a reputation for being obsessed with the weather, but it's hardly surprising.

They're routinely disappointed by precipitation all year 'round. So much so that it's become a law of nature.

Take this summer for instance. Same as last year. It's the middle of August in London and we didn't have one yet ...

Everyday, we wake up and look out of our windows at grey, overcast skies. There's a stiff breeze blowing too.

Where is the Sun? I know it's usually found centred over the southern mediterranean in this part of the world, but by August it has usually migrated far enough north to give us some long, hot, sunny days in the UK...

Well, it must be on vacation somewhere else this year (like last year) ... and I'm sick of it.

Might as well usher in Autumn early, 'cause there's not much point to having a garden or a barbecue around here right now.
You're better equipped with a fleece and waterproofs.

It's generally the same where I live. Only these last two years its been, "Gray-gray-gray-gray-gray- ZOMG Sudden burst of 90-degree blazing sun -gray-gray-gray-gray..." Not even enjoyable sun, just miserable heat, then overcast again. Never just pleasant. I'd like a nice, temperate season, something in-between for a change.
