My daughter is taking part in a Creative Writing Workshop at school. I was interested in last week's brief so I thought I would give it a go myself.
I can't decide if it's finished or not. I'm trying to resist the temptation to keep "tweaking" at it

I'm feeling very worthy right this minute.
I just finished making a batch of bramble jelly (aka smooth Blackberry Jam without all the irritating pips and bits).
The kids went out blackberry picking the other day and came back with a huge bowl.
Now all I gotta do is go out into the back garden and pick all the ripe plums off our tree.
There are hundreds of the darn things and if they're not picked, they'll rot on the tree

I know the Brits have a reputation for being obsessed with the weather, but it's hardly surprising.
They're routinely disappointed by precipitation all year 'round. So much so that it's become a law of nature.

We just got back from 2 weeks annual relative trek in Ireland to discover that while we were away, the hamster passed into permanent hibernation.
Our friends in the next street were caring for him and they were totally devastated and didn't know if they should telephone us to let us know (and spoil the holiday) or wait til we got back. Thank God they waited.
